Battle Beast - Circus of Doom

Circus of Doom is the 6th album from Battle Beast, the Finnish power metal band. Battle Beast has had a bit of an identity crisis since their primary songwriter and guitarist left in 2015 to form Beast in Black. Their last two albums, Bringer of Pain and No More Hollywood Endings had some great songs mixed in with some merely good ones. But with Circus of Doom, it sounds like they’ve found their footing again.

Lead singer Noora Louhimo is flawless as usual, but this time the musicianship seems to be sharper. The songs have better guitar work and are great quality overall.

I really like the initial single, Master of Illusion. Russian Roulette is wonderfully weird and Wings of Light is also incredibly catchy.

Overall this is a thoroughly enjoyable listen and worth at least a few spins.
